The Endowment Fund for Eye Surgeries

Blind People's Association (India)(BPA) is a professional organization providing equal opportunities to all categories of people with disabilities and is engaged in diverse types of welfare, charitable, educational & philanthropic activities from Ahmedabad and other places.
The Company has, under its CSR initiative, created an Endowment Fund of Rs.70 Lakhs (during 2015-17) with BPA (a project implementing agency) for providing free eye care and eye health related benefits to the needy and poor people of the Society.


The Endowment Fund for Eye Surgeries

This Fund is designed to generate regular flow of income for the treatment of needy people suffering from eye ailments and for performing about 250 to 300 cataract surgeries per year. BPA regularly conducts Free Eye Camps in villages of deep rural areas, where no eye health care services are available. This CSR project of the Company is immeasurably proving beneficial to the underprivileged populace of rural area, and genuinely enhancing their overall life satisfaction and comfort.


The Endowment Fund for Eye Surgeries

Under this project, Four Free Eye Check-up camps have been organized by a qualified teams of BPA, respectively in (i) village Vanthvadi (Mahemdabad, Dist. Kheda); (ii) village Tenpur (Bayad, Dist. Sabarkantha); (iii) Dholka city of Ahmedabad district, all in the State of Gujarat; and (iv) at village Godan, in the district of Jalore in Rajasthan State, where more than 2,900 OPD patients were examined, 418 cataract cases were identified; and 380 cataract surgeries were performed. Spectacles were also distributed to 704 patients freely/at negligible cost and 1,093 patients were provided free medicines.
